About Tsuruoka park

♦Beautiful park at the site of a castle to feel the history of Tsuruoka.
The park is in the site of Tsurugaoka castle, the catled owned by lord Sakai who was a leafer of the Syonai Clan. Still remaining trench and stone walls produce a quaint atmosphere of old times.
Lovely flowers will bloom all over the field, and above of all cherry trees are the most popular one as it is chosen to be one of the "100 best cherry tree sight" of whole Japan.
There are Sounai shrine, Tsuruoka gokoku shrine, and folk museum "Taihokan" on the premises.

Imoni:One of the local dishes of Yamagata which beef soup and taro roots are boiled and seasoned together.
Soba:Buckwheat noodles.
Cold ramen:Yamagata is the birthplace for cold ramen; the chinese noodle.
