About Gyokusen temple

♦Founded in Kamakura era, a venerable "temple of flower".
With its foundation in 1251, Tamagawa temple has distinguished history among Sotosyu temples.
The garden with seasonal flowers is a place of scenic beauty designated by nation.
That is the reason why the temple is called "temple of flower".
It is said that father of Dewa mountains, Tenyu landscaped the garden as it is now during Edo period. Let's take a break with Japanese tea and sweets by looking at this beautiful garden.

Access:30 minutes by bus from JR Tsuruoka station, 15 minutes on foot from the bus stop "ohdorii".
