About Maiko tea house/ Somaro
♦Enchanting dance of female dancers.
The building is used to be a high-class Japanese style restaurant "Somaya" since Edo period.
In the mud-walled storehouse, dolls, works of Yumeji Takehisa, Tessai Tomioka, and Shigeru Mori are displayed in turn. There is a saloon where Sakata girls perform traditional dance. The performance is practiced everyday from 2 p.m. Meals can also be enjoyed (reservation needed), weekly lunch box "Maiko Bento" (3500 yen) is cooked by 5 high-class Japanese restaurant.
