About Soko temple

♦Zen temple with long history and rare "Kinokosugi".
Built in 1384, Sokou temple is popular for 120 of "Kinokosugi" (Japanese cedar to grow mushrooms) lined up on the approach to the temple.
Theses kinokosugi of more than 350 years old have been tending by the chief priest from generation to generation. There are many other things to see such as beautiful Japanese garden or the carving of transom window.
