Shirabu hot spring

One of the OuuSantakayu, Shirahu hot spring has about 700 years of history and tradition, located along the valley of Ohtaru river. Massive Japanese pampas grass roof show the old history and present excitement of Shirahu hot spring town. Long time ago, a hunter found the wounded hawk mended its wound in the hot spring. Because the white speckles on the hawk healed, the hot spring was called "Shirabu Takayu(白斑他鷹湯)" then changed its name to Shirahu hot spring. The other legend says it is called Shirahu hot spring because water was running like a white cloth.
