About Sagae city local museum

♦One of the first county public offices built in whole country.
Completed in 1878, the old Nishimurayama county public office was a unique building with Western-style decorated billars and balcony. Everything including designing and construction was done by the locals, therefore Japanese traditional method of contruction can be found here and there.
Now as a tangible cultural asset of Yamagata, the public office is removed to Nagaokayama park known for azaleas, passing the history down to people.
