About Uesugi shrine
♦One of the best sights of cherry trees, at the site of Yonezawa temple remembered in connection with Uesugis.
Uesugi shrine is located in Misaki park, where Kenshin Uesugi is enshrined in.
It had once burned down in Taisyo period, and reconstracted by Dr. Chuta Ito; the architect came from Yonezawa city. There is a stone monument standing in front of the shrine which says the famous phrase "nase ba naru".
Spring festival "Uesugi festival" is held from April 29th to May 3rd, and "Uesugi snow lantern festival" on second Saturday and Sunday of February.
