About Kameoka monju Daisyo temple
♦Known as The Buddha of wisdom.
As Kiredo of Kyoyo and Abe of Nara, Kameoka is one of the Japanese three monju.
During the season of examination, the studetns from all over Japan come to visit Daisyo temple to be blessed with wisdom. Along the approach to the temple, tablet inscribed with a haiku of Basyo and 16 Rakan rocks are lined up. Pure water is welling out from the back of Monju temple, and it is said that drinking this water after visiting the temple let students to pass the exams.
A traditional event "Star festival" is held every year on January 25th.
