About Kokubun temple Yakushido

♦Walking through the park of beech woods.
Yakushido, or temple of the healing Budda is secretly stands near the Umamigasaki river running through Yamagata city with their 500 years history. The broad precinct is called Yakushi park with fine beech trees.
"Ueki ichi", or garden plants market is taking place every year from May 8th to 10th which is a season for Yakushi festival. This is a busiest time of the year with about 600 shops lining up around the temple.
